Whether they soften it with shaving cream, heat it in the oven, or wrap it with rubber bands, any ten-year-old aspiring outfielder can lecture you on the importance of taking care of one’s mitt. It’s a value and ritual we’ve engrained deeply within our sons and nephews, and we should all sleep soundly at night knowing we’ve done our jobs well. Unfortunately, not very many twenty-year-olds can attest to the importance of straight razors or aftershave (though we’re making great efforts to remedy this). And still fewer men over thirty can speak to the value of proper hand repair; Clearly, there’s still a lot of work to be done.
Next time you see your hands, would you give them a good once-over? I’ll wait…
Not quite the James Bond you thought you were, eh? Are those the fingernails of a confident and successful businessman? My apologies for the tough love, but sometimes we need a bit of a push to be our best. The truth is that not only do other men judge us by our hands, but women do too.You do realize your hands are the only part of you that your clients and coworkers will ever touch . . . don’t you?
If you’ve had one of our Hand Repair sessions, you’re way ahead of the game. But if you haven’t, you might want to give one a try before you shake hands with your boss again or go on a date that doesn’t involve wearing gloves. It won’t go unnoticed.
